Bedroom Lighting Guide: How to Create a Relaxing Space

Relaxing bedroom lighting

Your bedroom should help you slow down at the end of the day. Lighting plays a bigger part in that than most people expect.

Choose warm light

Use a warm colour temperature (around 2700K to 3000K) for most bedroom lighting. It feels cosy, flatters skin tones and wood finishes, and is easier on the eyes at night.

Light the bed-head, not your eyes

A soft line of light behind or above the headboard gives a hotel-like feel and provides enough light to relax without a bright fixture shining into your eyes.

Add reading light where you need it

Small, focused lights on each side of the bed let one person read while the other sleeps.

Use dimming and smart control

Dimmers or smart switches let you go from getting-ready brightness to a calm night-time glow with one touch. Scenes such as “Night” or “Wake up” make it even easier.

Our Luxury Bedroom Package brings these ideas together with professional installation and warranty support.
